  1. Yeah, I'm kinda OCD that way (sort of), but did youknow that depending ion the emphasis you want to put in your sentence a double negative is just fine? It may not be grammatically correct but the usage is correct (and that is an important difference). What I mean with sort of is the anglicisms.
  2. Oh, that's kind of cool. I've always did well in all my subjects in school, Even PE and Maths which I hated with a passion. I don't know how much an A is worth two, but here in UK s generally taken to mean 70-80% so I'll go with A in the States equals 80% and tell you I was (in Panama) straight As and A+ (90%) in all my classes! Here I was straight As and Bs becasue of the language&culture shock XP
  3. That's a surprisingly mature answer! But then again, I should have expected that from you!

Changing the topic (not so subtly XD) I'm so cold right now but I've been happily helping a friends correect and edit her fabnfiction. I love writing!
  4. My favourite Englsih-language author is Jane Austen, although Henry James comes a close second (the only issue I have with him is that his prose is so dull).

Of all time it would be Leandro Fernández de Moratín, although he worte plays. Lady Murakami (Genji Monogatari/The Tale of Genji) comes a close second although that's the only book she ever wrote so...

Why is he your favourite author?
  5. Well, that's a pity.

So I got a fellow bookworm! Nice to meet you.

    Favourite classic author?
  6. Well, there are always the classics like Gulliver's Tales (Jonathan Swift), Little Women (Louise May Alcott), Treasure Island (robert Louis Stevenson), The Exemplary Novels (Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra, also funny as hell), The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, The Mysterious Stranger and The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn (Mark Twain), Pride and Prejudice (Jane Austen, and if you manage to filter out most of the dialogue the misunderstandings are actually pretty funny, and clever to boot), Marianela (Benito Pérez Galdós, this will make you cry), Lord of the Rings (J. R. R. Tolkien) and...

    And...

Geez, I'm really struggling to come up with suitable books for you. Why can't you be my age? T-T (I've read all this stuff and some more).

Oh, there's the Bartimaeus Trilogy by Jonathan Strout. I like it! Although verbose at times, but it's pretty clever!!

    And...?

I can't come up with anything else.

    Sorry :$
  7. Needless to say, I've never read many children's books (compared to the volume of adult literature I've read) and the ones I've read are from an Spanish editorial so touhg lukc finding those. And the others I've read have made me steer clear of the genre (like Twilight).

Well, I've already said The Host by SMeyer; and you could read the Discworld books, I guess? They're a series of adventure/fantasy/humor books by Sir Terry Pratchett, veyr good and with lots of pop culture references and stuff. I own 4, but Ive read 20 of them. Also, there are 36 of them (plus the cookbook and the science book and stuff), each one better than the last so you should have your hands full for a while.

I think the Complete Tales of Isaac Asimov should be appropriate enough for you and with a more "adult feel" if that's what you'd like... And...
  8. Well, I'm not sure I would be the most appropriate person to ask that. Even if I tell you the stuff I read at your age, it wasn't the most "age appropriate stuff" there is and I'm not sure your parents would be happy with an 18-years-old telling you to read stuff with high violence/s3xual content even if I read that stuff at your age. (The reason for this was because my mother couldn't care less what I read because she was confident enough that I would be a critical and self-sufficient person, which I was thanks to my mum, and that I would be clever enough to differentiate fiction and reality).
  9. ask the correct momo.
  10. I'm seriously thinking about learning French. The French have a very good and healthy comic book industry and there are some things I've been dying to read, like The Incal, and any of the Duck Tales stories (yes, there's a comic about Scrooge Mcduck and Donald Duck and all of them!), plus there's Tintín and Astérix. In my school they had the Spanish versions of Tintin and Astérix and it was seriously good.

    I want me some comics!

And apparently sanriotown censors now the word I-D-I-O-T. Seriously?? This is getting tiresome. It's not even a bad word!
